In this parable, Jesus teaches us that we must be humble if we desire a genuine relationship with God. Ａprideful person’s focus is on themselves and is incapable of developing an intimate relationship with God, while a humble person looks to God and relies on God’s mercy. Ultimately, it is the humble who is justified by God and enjoys intimacy with Him.
