Philemon 1:17-25
Questions
- How concerned was Paul for the reconciliation of Philemon and Onesimus? Give evidence from the text today, as well as from the whole letter.
- Why didn’t Paul just keep Onesimus by his side and not bother sending him back to Philemon? What was Paul trying to achieve?
- How concerned are you about reconciliation? Do you need to reconcile with anyone?
- Is reconciliation a necessary result of the gospel? Why or why not?
Prayer Suggestions
- Praise the Lord for reconciling us to himself and to one another. Pray that we would keep proclaiming this gospel message of reconciliation to ourselves and to others.
- Ask the Lord to help you forgive others as he has forgiven you. Be specific if there are people you still need to forgive in your life.
- Give thanks for all the things you have learned from Philemon.
