- In verses 4-5, what do you think Jesus was talking about? Has this ever happened to you? What can you do to ensure that you don’t lose your first love for God?

Prayer Suggestions
- Give thanks that Jesus acknowledges the good and remembers what we do for him. Give thanks that he cares for the church so much that he would take the time to comfort and commend, as well as rebuke and discipline.
- Ask God to help us remember the love we have for him at first, and pray that we would continue to earnestly seek to grow in love for him.
- Pray for our church to be able to identify and oppose false teaching.
TUE, 6th October
Revelation 2:8-11

- Do you expect persecution to happen to you at any point in your life? Why or why not? Read 2 Timothy 3:12 and reflect on your life.

Prayer Suggestions
- Pray that we would not compromise our faith in Jesus or his truths even if it means persecution for us. Pray that we would love and follow Jesus even until the point of death.
- Pray for a persecuted group of Christians that is on your heart. Ask God to give you genuine love and concern for their welfare and their faith.
WED, 7th October
Revelation 2:12-17

Prayer Suggestions
- Pray that God would help us to be obedient to his word, and not try to twist his truths to suit our itching ears and sinful desires.
- Pray for our pastors and leaders to be teachers of the truth and that as a church, we would be on our guard against false teachers and wrong teachings.
- Repent of the compromises we have made in our lives, and repent of sins such as sexual immorality and participating in idol worship.

Revelation 2:18-29

- What might be some of the reasons why the church would give such prominence to a false prophetess like Jezebel?
- It is disturbing that some Christians in Thyatira were involved in practising Satan’s deep secrets (v24). Do you find yourself intrigued by secret knowledge, new age practices and mysticism? Do you know anyone that has been lured away from Jesus by these things?
Prayer Suggestions
- Ask God to reveal to you whether there are things in your life and your spiritual walk that you need to renounce and repent of. Ask the Lord to guard you from being deceived by these so-called deep secrets.
- Pray that we would not tolerate false teaching or false teachers regardless of how powerful or influential they may be.
- Give thanks that Jesus will judge and not allow evil to keep polluting his church.
FRI, 9th October
Revelation 3:1-6

- Are you asleep or awake (v2-3)? What are some marks of a Christian who is awake?
- If Jesus looked at your life over the past year, would he be satisfied with the service and worship you have been rendering to him? What needs to change?
Prayer Suggestions
- Pray that we would not be Christians who are asleep. Ask the Lord to strengthen you, to keep you awake and help you pursue him until we meet God face to face.
- Pray for people you know who are nominal Christians (Christians by name only). Pray that they would wake up and start to truly follow Jesus.
- Mission Friday: pray for Compassion Australia. Pray that they would keep the gospel front and centre, and not compromise the gospel for the sake of more donations. Pray for the leaders to be given wisdom to navigate through these difficult times, and to keep serving Jesus faithfully and joyfully. Also pray for the kids you sponsor!
SAT, 10th October
Revelation 3:7-13

Prayer Suggestions
- Praise Jesus that he will cause the enemies of the church to acknowledge that Jesus loves his church. Praise Jesus for his love for us.
- Pray that we would follow the good example set by the church in Philadelphia and be obedient to the Lord even when things get difficult.
- Pray for your ministry leaders and life group leaders.
