Exodus 39:32-43
Questions
- The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses and received his blessing. What do you think would have happened if the Israelites did not do exactly what God commanded them? What if they were to change just one detail? What might be God’s response? How does this challenge you in the way you serve God?
- Can you think of an occasion where your obedience to the Lord brought blessing? Please note down one or two and share with your life group.
Prayer Suggestions
- Pray that we would joyfully obey God just as it was a joy for Jesus to honour the Father.
- Give thanks to God for the blessings that came as a result of your obedience. Pray that we would enjoy God’s blessings, but won’t be obeying just for the rewards.
- Seeker Monday: Jesus said that we are to go and make disciples. Pray that your prayers for your non-believing friends and family would turn into opportunities to share the gospel.
TUE, 25th August
Exodus 40:1-33
Questions
- Now that everything was built, it was time to put everything into place. Once again, take a moment to reflect on how detailed everything is in God’s plan.
- Having received the Law and finishing the construction of the tabernacle with all its furnishings, Israel was now ready to move forward with the Lord in their midst as their King. They were now ready to worship and serve God. What about you? What kind of preparations have you done to help you serve God more effectively? How much effort and thought have you put into worshipping and serving the Lord?
- Verse 33 concludes: “And so Moses finished the work.” After everything, the work was finished. Isn’t it good that God not only starts things but also finishes them?
Prayer Suggestions
- Ask God to prepare you and ready you for his service. Give thanks that God would give us the opportunity to serve him, the great and mighty God.
- Give thanks that God will continue to do the good work that he is doing in your life until it comes to a finish in glory. (Check out Philippians 1:6 and 1 Thessalonians 5:23.)
- Ask God to help you to finish the work that he has given you to do. Pray for perseverance if you are finding it difficult to continue.
WED, 26th August
Exodus 40:34-38
Questions
- After being in slavery for 430 years in Egypt, not only were the Israelites set free through the events of Exodus, but now they had the glory of God dwelling among them in the tabernacle. Any Israelite at that time would be able to look to the middle of the camp and see God’s presence physically manifested at the tabernacle. If you were an Israelite at that time, what might you be feeling? How should they have been feeling?
- In what ways are our experiences with God similar to and different from these Israelites? Which group do you think is more blessed?
- How has your life changed since you allowed God to dwell in your life?
- The Israelites travel was completely led by the glory of God — when he moved, they moved. If God stayed, they stayed. They were completely dependent on God’s movement. Are you willing to surrender your life to God’s leading? Are you afraid of anything?
Prayer Suggestions
- Give thanks that the Holy Spirit dwells within us and among us today. Ask God to become greater in your life as he dwells among you. Ask him that his presence would be so much more influential in the way you live your life.
- Submit your day (and your life) to him. Pray this: “God, lead me today; God, guide me today. God, if you want me to do something, tell me and I will obey.”
- Leadership Wednesday: pray for the leadership of our church, that they would be led by the glory and presence of God in all seasons.

- What about you? What are some of the changes that you have noticed over the last three months spent in Exodus?
